BUT women... WOW!
well, i married one, they are quite nice. great manners. they keep-up themselves in general. fit, healthy, dressy, hair, eyebrows. (some do claws [nails] and a few tan in a booth but many do not). the later generation is more into tattoos and piercings, but less than USA. most that can succeed in college seek a university education. college can start at 16.
as for Russia in general, it is good. infrastructure improvements are continuous. not "highways and bridges" but schools, kindergartens, churches, hospitals, pediatric clinics, centers for performing arts, etc. we even have a new 3 floor sports gym for deaf children. we are 700 miles from Moscow and a small city-110,000.
people are positive in attitude. birth rates are very high, many pregnant women are seen and scores of babies in carriages are seen daily. i see a lot of mega-mansions being built. why someone wants so much room, i don't know. 2 or 3 stories and as big as two houses on each floor.
everything here is a lot different than in USA. hundreds of people will be seen walking any day over a few blocks at any time of day. schools are all within a few blocks- buses are not used at all as in USA. a few small yellow buses DO exist, but do not collect children on a route. they may take a group to a museum a few miles away or to a live theatre.
Russian language is still great, though it lost so many words and acquired some kind of hybrid words from other languages. Can't talk about women because I am a female myself, men are men like anywhere else.
Sexy and exotic are the words that come to mind for Russians of both genders. I blame the language--so pretty. Of course, I'm American, and we're pretty much all suckers for an awesome accent.
I am Russian and I think Russians are simply normal people, unlike you, my dear alien westerners.
