Chulo is a strange word. It can mean pretty.
But it also means: 'cocky', a pimp, a 'chav' from Madrid, B.O , vulva, well played, a ruffian, an assistant in a slaughter house etc.
I have heard a lady, on finding a pretty dress in a shop exclaim "?Que Chulo!". (It is a girly word in this sense.)
