What's Your Favorite City in Spain?

While you are in Madrid, you are not far away from two of the most amazing cities in Spain: ávila and Toledo. Don't miss them!!! They are very well preserved old cities. Take a look at some pics,

If you have enough money to lodge in the parador nacional, you will be sleeping in true Renaissance palaces.

And congratulations for your choice of Granada. Wonderful place, marvellous people, great food. I visit the place some months ago and I have to say that the Alhambra is breathtaking.

My favorite was Seville, although I also much liked Salamanca and Sanitago de la Compostela. I haven't visited Granada, Cordoba, or Toledo, unfortunately. Santiago de la C. is in Galicia, a lush province in the northwest. If you like the outdoors, I would recommend Los Picos de Europa.

I thought that Barcelona was overrated and that the only interesting sights in Madrid were 1) the art museums and 2) the palace.

But if you are only going to have a week, don't run yourself ragged trying to see the entire country. Pick two (or maybe three) places and see them well.

At the risk of contradicting what I just said, if you get the chance to hop across the strait and visit Morocco, even for a day, take it. Even a day is enough to give you a very different experience.

I like Barcelona best. It is a big city with lots to do. But, I would leave it for another time as it is quite far from all the other cities. Remember you can always visit the Andalucian cities at weekends from Granada.

You missed out Segovia, and Avila, if you are in Madrid. Sounds a very busy week!

My favorite city in Spain is Madrid because of Madrid is very much artistic kind of city. It has a wonderful nightlife which can amuse all kinds of visitors. It is an excellent city for shopping and spending times. There are great hotels and apartments for staying at Madrid.

There are some lovely restaurants where people can enjoy eating during vacations. The city has some wonderful places where times can be spent and such times become memorable for rest of the lives.

Hello!

Madrid, bar none. It has art museums, parks, beautiful boulevards and amazing people! The metro is fast, reliable and the city is very walkable. Plus, an amazing nightlife.

Cheers!

Sevilla.

You could spend a day in Toledo, too, if you want.

I love Granada. Lived in Sevilla.

Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, a very famous pilgrimage city.

Paris

I have a week in Spain to travel before going to Granada to study for the semester. I'm planning on going to Madrid, Barcelona, Cordoba, Toledo, and Seville later in the semester. Where else should I go? Any favorite cities in Spain?
