Unfortunately, you're going to look like a tourist no matter what. They can spot foreigners from a mile away unless as a girl, you look really tan, have dark hair, and dress really nice. Especially since I doubt you'll be speaking fluent Spanish. So don't worry about trying to fit in so much and have fun! I never experienced any pickpockets in Sevilla, but just treat everything like you would in any other large city. Be alert and keep your purse and belongings close.
You are a tourist. You don't have to dress like they do, and you won't have anything that won't be spottable, anyway.
They dress in Sevilla. They don't wear shorts in public. Those dresses will come in handy.
It will be hot, hot HOT in the summertime.
I was there a few years ago, and one day, I thought to check the temp: 41, in the shade, at 7 PM.
Sevilla is HOT! wear whatever you want, if you don't speak spanish, you will stand out as a tourist anyway, just be aware and keep your money close to you, not in your back pocket. the most prime location for pick pockets is subways, so keep your stuff close to you. it is true that spaniards are very lax in their dressing, sometimes i go their and wear very fashion forward stuff, and i get looks but who cares, right?
Sevilla will be extremely hot and you need to dress very lightly. It doesn't matter what you wear because nobody cares. Spain is a relaxed and laid back country. There are two essentials to wear, suncream and a hat!
I'm traveling to Sevilla this month and I was wondering for a 17 year old what would be an appropriate way to dress? I'm bringing some summery dresses, but I was thinking about bringing some shorts. They aren't super short, but they aren't long either. I heard/read that shorts for girls in Spain, Sevilla especially, are a no no and make you look like a stupid tourist and a target for pickpocketing, and not classy. What's the deal? What should I bring?
