Where is the best place to live in England?

Test Valley, Hampshire

Wokingham, Berkshire

Hart District in Hampshire has topped the Halifax list for several years as the place with best quality of life

As Sunshine says.

Best big city: London

Best countryside town: Ludlow www.ludlow.org.uk

Best Coastal town: Bournemouth www.bournemouth.co.uk

These are generalised suggestions based on my personal tastes. Never move anywhere without having a good look around it first

Buckingham Palace

Cambridge has low unemployment but a higher cost of living, though affordable apartment rentals are easy to come by. You can travel from the city via train to the east coast seaside resorts and south to London for weekend entertainment, though the city of Cambridge has plenty of night life. It's beautiful city with lots of historical attraction.

Liverpool

Suffolk

Test Valley, Hampshire, came out as the best place in England and Wales in which to live.

It scored well on household income and health, and low crime rates.

Nowhere in London made the top 10, due to low levels of home ownership and high crime.

The best place to live within commuter range of the capital was St Albans in Hertfordshire, coming 10th in our ranking.

Depends what you want from a location. Some people prefer countryside, others prefer cities.

DEPENDS what looking for..If a city, then Manchester is on the up and the future looks good...There are lots of good rural places too and seaside ones....
