Any busy, lots of shops, great beach, good restaurants, touristy resorts in Majorca that are suitable for families in August.

Shops etc are in Palma. If you go to Soller, you can take the old train into the capital for shopping.

Personally I like the North West Coast.

The best family resort in Majorca is Alcudia and Club Mac covers all age groups, it also has a free aqua park next door for those that are all inclusive, I have been a few times to Alcudia and going back during summer time but chose a different hotel this year. Alcudia has lots of shops, pubs/karaoke, restaurants, Burger King, fantastic beach, the only area I would avoid is the Bellevue Complex because the food is terrible and entertainment rubbish and mosquito's everywhere, the only other area I suggest is Santa Ponsa, Good Luck

Alcudia and Cala D'or I went to when I was younger and were great for families.

I have also been to Club Mac Hotel in Alcudia which is good and has a bit of everything with good entertainment and plenty for kids and all inclusive with a few diff buffets as there are 3 hotels in this complex called Jupiter, Saturno and Marte. We also went on this coach trip through the mountains where you then go on a little boat and walk and the views were fab!

I went to Cala D'or when I was 6 so don't remember all apart from the hotel was great with a private beach, there was a great meal and entertainment night we went to called Son Amar and the area was very pretty!

Definitely Alcudia it the perfect place what every your needs. We've been to Alcudia, as coma, can picafort, and Cala d'or. All were lovely but Alcudia just has that some thing special.

Soller. 30 mins drive from palma airport. Very good bars/restaurants/beach. Not magallufy at all.
