Where to go in Spain this summer?

My dentist moved to Nerja for a year after he retired. That's always seemed to be a pretty one. Most of the Costa del Sol is overrun with tourists in the summertime. People from all over Europe go there and crowd things out.

Nerja is a little more like a real city.

You should also look into Alicante, Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz. All places near the coast with more to offer than just beaches.

Clubs? You'll find something in almost any city.

Oh, and if you're interested in the Northern coast, which few people think about, there's Santander, Donostia (San Sebastián) and Oviedo, all interesting, with more than the typical resorts.

That's general descritpion of most of the cities on the southern coast of Spain. I guess the more interesting ones are Valencia and Barcelona. I've been to Barcelona and loved it, there are 1000 things to see and do there. I also went to Torremolinos, Blanes and Ibiza. They were beautiful and interesting but they were more tourist traps than anything else.

Barcelona. There are many things to do there. It's a beautiful city. Valencia and Bilbao are also nice.

Ibiza!!!

I want to go on holiday to Spain this Summer for 10 days, however I don't know where to go!

Is there a nice cultural city that doesn't have too many tourists but is close to the beach? A few nightclubs would be nice too but that's not too important. Any suggestions would be be highly appreciated :D
