Where to move to in South England.?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
I'm a 22 year old female. I currently live in the North East of Scotland but I'd like to move to the South of England. I have family in Hounslow, London and friends in London also that I'd like to be closer to. However, I do not want to live in London... too big for a Wee Scottish Lass like myself to handle!

I don't drive but I don't mind travelling at all. So trains and buses are fine.

Obviously I will do greater research on this but just putting feelers out for any suggestions on nice towns or cities down south. I don't really go to clubs but places with a nice social scene like pubs are good and with things to do that aren't too boring! Ha

Thanks for any suggestions in advance! (:

The rail network is dense and frequent everywhere in Southern England. Where you live will depend somewhat on what you can afford property purchase or rent wise. The following are nice places within 40 miles of London all with good rail services.

Hertford

St Albans

Wendover

Berkhamstead

Sevenoaks

Tunbridge Wells

Reigate

Dorking

Guildford

Godalming

Leatherhead

Maidenhead

Marlow

Portsmouth

There are probably hundreds of towns that fit your description!

How near do you want to be to London?

What's your budget? (Renting or buying?)

Have you looked at the job market?

Need work in LONDON? Watford is handy and NOT as dear....
