I personally would forget both of those destinations and head for Benidorm instead, I will tell you why in some easy steps. 1) Flights are dirt cheap 2) Apartments and AI hotels are Dirt Cheap 3) Its a very British resort and knows what the brits like. 4) It is full to the brim with fantastic bars, clubs and restaurants all selling beer at 1 euro a pint!!!. The resort has watersports June onwards and has the cleanest beaches in the whole of Spain. I hope i have put a good case forward but do remember that a whole holiday in Benidorm will be cheaper than just flights to Tenerife!

There is some good nightlife in Benalmadena and it is way better than Torremolinos.although Torremolinos has many great bars on the front, Fuengirolas nightlife is pretty good too,
Marbella has the best clubs and bars and amazing night life but very expensive Puerto Banus has some amazing women too.
Tenerife. was ok when I was there about 3 years ago but main land Spain is better by far.
Honestly, I'd say Costa del Sol. I've never been to either of them but judging about what I've been told and etc I'd chose Torremolinos. Playa de las americas was build for the purpose of tourist attraction, so it's filled with people from England and germans. I've seen pictures and I don't quite like the beach, it's so artificial. La Costa del sol offers a much larger nightlife, and I may be wrong but I think it's also cheaper. It's also in Andalucia, where you can do lots of cool things! Not that you can't in Tenerife, but I'd personally prefer to stay on the Iberic peninsula just in case you want to go somewhere else or idk, whatever. Also people in Andalucia are extremely outgoing and nice, but beware of your phones and wallets, with the economy being how it is people also steal a lot... have a nice holiday!
Benalmadena has a good nightlife, better than Torremolinos. Fuengirola has also a good nightlife. Puerto Banus and Marbella has a eally good night life but is far more expensive (specially Puerto Banus).
All this resorts have a better night life for young people than anything on Tenerife.
I suggest that you stay in Benalmadena or Fuengirola and than pay Puerto Banus and marbella a visit.
I live on Costa del Sol, but has also ben visiting Tenereife and Gran Canaria.
I live on the Costa del Sol but never have been to Benalmadena or Torremolinos in 30 years except driving by!
Night life is better in Puerto Banus or Nueva de Andalucia!
Forget about all that a go to Albufeira/Algarve/Portugal
