Some conservatives admire his wilderness to attack others, which is seen by anyone who could his enemy as a bravery worthy of imitation, specially when one has a coward, a traitor or a foreigner as president.
But that's only when the situation is desperate, a real conservative avoids war and trusts the victory over his enemies to God. What really happens is that socialists love him everywhere, specially in Latin America, and in some countries of Asia like China,, part of its population i should say, because in Hong Kong, he must be hated, as he is an ally of the communist government of China.
When one expresses respect for an opponent, that is not "love." Putin, like Field Marshall Rommel, has our respect. We still act to defeat him and his cause. Obama, like a Hitler, Quisling or other scalawag carpet chewers, does not generate any respect from Conservatives. He's simply someone we must act upon to defeat. That isn't hatred either.
Respect is not love.
Disrespect is not hate. You guys know this simple truth. You choose to twist it.
He stands up to the global bully known as the U.S. by telling the truth about the U.S. is and gets national support because his country is under attack by the U.S.
BTW, I am no conservative, I am a lib Dem !
Vladimir Lubavich Putin
Wasn't it obama that told Putin he would be more "flexible" after 2012. Seriously, we didn't do what Obama did, underestimate the Russian leader.
I suspect it started with that letter he sent to the American people:
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/12/opinio...
Not to be confused with this letter:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/p...
[I could have sworn there was another one before that, like in 2010, but I couldn't find it.]
After that conservatives mostly liked him because he disagrees with Obama on a lot of the same points as them. Interestingly, the Russian government seems to be slowly changing in the direction of conservativism, just as the U.S. government is changing in the direction of socialism. (I'm not using socialism as a "scare word" or anything; it's simply the mode of recent events.)
Now, I doubt you'd find a right winger who agrees with "all" of Putin's decisions, but you're right that conservatives do seem to like Vlad quite a bit.
Conservatives don't collectively "love" Putin. Just cause couch politicians say it doesn't mean you should repeat it. I think people, especially conservatives, just admire his boldness.
I am conservative but do not love Putin
Do they?
No matter how many ways this can be rephrased you're still going to get answers from conservatives invalidating your assumption about what they think of Putin.

Because he loves men more than women. He even married a man.
