They don't. I have never met a Londoner who hated Leicester Square.
Most Londoners never go to Leicester Square. They don't hate it, they just avoid it as its a tourist trap. It's like most New Yorkers avoid Times Square, same thing
This video doesn't say that Londoners hate Leicester Square. It says that the inappropriate behaviour of some American tourists pisses off Londoners.
It is now mostly a tourist location with high pub prices and too many foreigners. Any London bus is full of a dozen languages. Try Time Out magazine for alternative spots in London and don't forget museums and art galleries are free.
I do not know anybody who hates Leicester Square, in fact it now looks a
lot better.
