I have visited Belgium 3 times (twice in Antwerp) and have met many Belgium’s, and I have noticed a common trend that they don’t drink tea, coffee is preferred. I’d go as far to say that tea isn’t even their second, third, or fourth favourite hot drink.

I drink coffee -

Majority of Belgians like coffee more than tea -

Belgian coffee is excellent -

When in UK, I sometimes drink tea, due to the fact coffee there is awful -

I did travel in many countries, because of my job as airline pilot -

I saw people prefer coffee in most places, except former "British colonies" -

They even start to prefer coffee to tea, in China and Japan...!

Coffee is the preferred hot drink in Belgium, just as it is in most Continental European countries. And, while Belgians and Europeans do not drink black tea, herbal tea is a common drink.

Really, I cannot understand why you think the Belgians should like tea.

My mom drinks (herbal) tea in the evening but coffee is preferred by most.

Why do American like ice tea over hot tea?

or cold cola over room temp cola.

or even beer.

Because every country and their peole are different, and that is the best part.
