Why do we have Black Friday in the UK?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
Everyone just wants to get stuff for fractionally reduced prices. If you have seen any of the videos circling the internet over the last couple of days you could probably see for yourself why it's all an incredibly bad idea... People were wrestling eachother for Tv's etc and they were only getting £20 off it anyway! Also a man took a week off work to wait in a queue to get a TV with £400 discount and he could have made £600 if he had actually worked that week and bought the TV at full price, people in the UK seem to be off their rockers

Because the marketing men want to sell stuff. It's the same with Halloween. It used to be low key in UK. Now it must generate £millions for the retailers.

It's only a matter of time before we have 4th July sales.

Because it's an excuse to sell things. You realize Valentines day is an invented holiday to stimulate sales, right? Same thing with Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

It's taken from the US, and transplanted to the

UK. The news at 6 o'clock last night showed people fighting to get cheap TV etc.

Some idiot thought it a good idea to copy the Americans

Its an excuse for people to think they have bought a bargain, just like the january sales.

Its a very easy way for the shops to lull gullible people in,thinking they are getting a great deal, when in fact all they are paying is old stock, with a few loss leaders thrown in.

Because the UK copies everything the US does.

Because the UK copies everything the US does.

Because the UK copies everything the US does.
