Will my 3 week itinerary be too rushed?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
I am planning to go Paris, Rome, Florence and Prague.

I have 21 days off for vacation. I realize there will be time spent travelling, so basically I have subtracted 2 days because of travel in and out of Europe. And also subtract 0.5 day travelling within Europe. I will be flying in between cities except for when i go to florence from rome, i will take a train which should be an hour or so. That will leave me 16 full days.

5 full days in Paris

5 full days in Rome

2 full days Florence

4 full days Prague

Should I sacrifice some days in Paris for a day trip to St Mont Michel?

Thanks.

I just got back from Europe and went to all these places.

If you are going by plane to each place its only going to take about 3 - 4 hours out of each day you travel. I suggest that the days you travel use them as rest or laundry days, you are going to want to. I don't think it is rushed at all. There is so much to do in Paris and its always going to be crazy busy which is going to make it harder for you to see much in 1 day. I suggest do everything you want to do in Paris before you decide on a day trip. Also, grab yourself a Eurail pass to get from Rome to Florence and make sure to reserve a seat.

Have fun, its incredible!

That should work out fine. Those are all wonderful places to visit. You could take a night train between Milan and Paris (train from Florence to Milan to connect) instead of flying, but a flight will be fine. Note that you do NOT want a Eurail pass for the small amount of travel by train that you propose to do. It is almost always cheaper to buy individual tickets in Italy than to use a railpass especially for short trips like Rome to Florence which takes approximately 90 minutes on a fast train. See the section Common railpass mistakes: Italy... here: http://www.seat61.com/Railpass-and-Eurai...

You can find schedules and prices for Italian trains here: http://www.trenitalia.com/cms/v/index.js...

You need a lot more than half a day to travel. Paris and Rome are an overnight journey by train, with some changes.

do you like to torture to yourself?
