Would they let me enter Paris?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
To make this short... my flight is on Dec. 9 and I will arrive in Paris on Dec. 10 but the starting date on my visa was Dec 11.. the airline doesn't allow rebooking so we will just push through rather than to waste the money. Would they let me enter Paris or would they even let me leave my country? Thank you

Zafir is right. You probably won't be allowed to board your initial flight because airlines can be fined for every passenger that shows up at passport control without the proper paperwork to enter the destination country. It's possible that they would miss the date discrepancy, but the immigration officers in France are unlikely to miss it.

You really need to discuss this with your airline and with the Embassy that issued your visa, because without a valid visa, you will not be allowed onto the plane. The airline legally cannot allow you on board because you will be arrivng in France without the correct paperwork. And it is the airlines responsibility to ensure that all passengers are legitimate travellers.

EDIT: Just a note on one of your comments about staying in the airport overnight. It is likely that you will arrive at Charles de Gaulle Airport, and this airport's terminals are closed from midnight to 4am. You will not be allowed to stay.

Yes, as already said you won't get on the flight if your visa isn't in order.

Nope. Like the other guy said: sleep at the airport until you visa is in order...

You'd get out of your own country fine, but technically speaking you would not have a VISA (because yours is not valid until the 11th) so its likely you wouldn't be allowed into France.

Just sleep at the airport gate until midnight then go through immigration.
