Considered? They are Turkish.
They are called Turkish in Azerbaijan Republic since stalin changed their name to '' azeri '' in 1936, even in their constitution the name of their nation was '' Türk '' the name of their language was '' Türk?e '' . Azeris are actually a little group of people living in Azerbaijan, on the other hand those '' Azeris '' you mean are just simply Türks but persian racists deny it and it is a state policy in iran, there are even tribes who reside in North and South Azerbaijan ( iran ) or tribes residing in S. Azerbaijan and Turkey or tribes residing in S.Azerbaijan-Turkey-Syria and some tribes who only reside in North Azerbaijan and Turkey. Also in iran they are called '' Torke '', mostly the Turkish people in Turkey started to call them Azeri instead of the word '' Azerbaijanian '' which included every nation in the North Azerbaijan. In the North Azerbaijan 90 percent of people are Turkish the rest are some iranics and Caucausians. So an ethnic non-Türk in Azerbaijan can say '' we are not Türks we are Azeris '' but thats not true, and to have the face to say that they should stop calling themselves with the name of their ethnicities cause they still call themselves Tal??, Lezgi, Avar but when it comes to Türks they say '' we are all azeris, you are not Türks '' :D For iran it is pure delusion cause since 900's to 1920's iran was ruled by Türks till the evil english came and ruined the country and tried to persify the country to cut the links between the Turkic world
They are not turkish they are Azeri. Iran calls 72 nation country. It has Azeri, kurdish , and so many other. But Azeri people are Persian and Turkish are Turkish.
Turkish is the name of language.Turk is name of the nation.
Azerbaycan and Turkey Turks practically same people (same tribe , same dialect except fewer differences ), same tribe of Turks ( O?uz )
Both are considered central Asian tribes having the same origin
Ethnically they're not related, although Turkish people and Azeris seem to think they are.
They might have some few Persian-Iranian blood in them nonetheless.
I know they have some Persian words in Azeri.
I am European.
