Well depends if its a guy on the street with a bag of drugs I would advise you not to trust him/her. But all the same trusting a person should be based on that individuals own credentials not his/her nationality and keep in mind that despite its location the west coast of turkey is a fairly civilized region but as much as i hate to stereotype i wouldnt say the same about anyone from the eastern/southeastern regions as those regions and the people there are a bit far from what you would consider western . Disclaimer its still nowhere near like its southern neighbours.

Most Turks are the most untrustworthy people you will ever meet. They will use you and when their tired of you they will dump you. Essentially you have to remember that Turks are muslims and most of them have a backward and uncivilised way of thinking. They will always do what their mummy says ultimately and mummy usually wants them to marry a Turkish muslim girl. Go there on holiday if you want but don't ever get involved with the Turkish locals unless you want to be hurt. I and my wife went there once with our two girls and it was a terrible experience because the locals were drooling over my three family members and some even had the audacity to chat one of my daughters up, bear in mind my daughter is 16 and he looked easily in his 40's. They don't seem to have any morals and they see blue eyed, fair skinned Westener's as easy meat. But I've heard countless incidents where Turks have gotten with Western girls and then just dump them or use them for their passport. Don't trust them or you will regret it. There are exceptions everywhere but it is not worth the risk in a country like Turkey especially. I for one will never go back to Izmir or Turkey ever again after our horrible experience. Stick to Greece, Italy or Spain if you want a sunny break.

Why would Turkish man be any different then others ?. if you are an intelligent person you should not need any advice on how to handle man of any nationality.

Trust must be hard-earned. Before that time do no trust anyone, be it Turkish, Jamaican or Marsian.

Turkey is a Big country, like Usa. lots of different ethnic group living together and they are very different west and east.

There are those from various countries that are only interested in relationships for money, sex, or marriage (for emigration purposes). Only you can assess if this particular individual is genuine or not - take your time.....
