Russian and Qing dynasty had several wars and treaties. In 192x after forming of the USSR, USSR wanted to spread communism into China. They gave money, weapon, military/political consultants to first generation of Chinese communists to throw violent revolutions. After WWII, old Republic of China government abolished all unequal treaties. But Chinese communists (Mao, etc.) got full backing of USSR and took power in China. In 196x, communist PRC and then USSR had skirmishes over border disputes, and also ideology differences. But in 1999, Jiang Zemin gave to Russia very large land.
Today, PRC and Russia are on honeymoon. They signed long term energy deal for PRC to purchase oil from Russia. PRC also purchase SU-35 from Russia, and new Lada-class subs. Two countries will develop future jet engines.
At current moment, PRC and Russia need each other. The movement of troops doesn't necessarily mean they are going to war.
Why on earth would China attack Russia? Japan maybe but not Russia.
I doubt if China would attack Russia but I wish they would. We could use some Russian divisions against the impending war with China.
