We can certainly hear each others. Identifiable accents change on average every 25 miles in the UK.

I'm from Bristol UK I can hear my gert accent. I love speaking with a farmers accent makes people feel at ease

The British accent doesn't exist.

We don't tend to notice our accent among people from our area, but if a Londoner were to be in conversation with a Liverpudlian (Someone from Liverpool), they would probably notice each other's accents.

Can you hear your accent among your local friends?

No.

The same applies here.

There are hundreds of accents here. Most people don't notice their own, but recognise all the others.

Mine and all the other very many accents we have....What gives with Americans and accents..ALL have one..

I don't think that they can. I'm from 'murica and I can't hear my midwestern accent. I think that its just where you are from that sounds natural and non-accented. So british can't hear british accents.

Let me guess, you're American, aren't you? In which case, the REAL question is, can you hear yours?!

Just as much as you can hear yours.
