I used to be based in Tunbridge Wells. It's a really nice town surrounded by pretty countryside. It's about 30 miles away from SE London.
House prices are high. Some of my colleagues found it cheaper to live in nearby Crowborough and commute.
Tunbridge Wells is a really nice town in Kent. Your main problem is going to be find accommodation that you can afford on your income as property values are very high there. It might be easier to live in Tonbridge 6 miles north of Tunbridge Wells and commute there by train each day
Royal Tunbridge Wells is in Kent and is 40 miles from London. It is a beautiful city and not cheap. Look on Rightmove under Lettings for accommodation.
Not sure what bad things you have heard about it. It is very popular.
Have you been there?
Tunbridge Wells is not in London, it's in Kent and is an expensive commuter town.
Not a big salary, and as people mentioned, decent accommodation will always be an issue. It is a lovely part of the world.
That is not much for London..Will need apply for Family Credit Benefit too....
