need a postal code for england?

Clive has just said what I was thinking.

A post code is unique to a small area of the country, sometimes part of a road,or even just a few houses.

The whole point of a post code is to narrow down a specific area.

How could you put a post code into a sat nav, iexpecting to be given directions to a house/office etc,if there was just one post code for an entire country, containing millions of buildings?

Anywhere in particular?

Every street in the UK has its own postcode. There isn't one postcode for the whole country. In the same way that America doesn't have a single zip code.

Then forget it. There are thousands, each relating to a small number of addresses.

WHY do people keep asking this? There wouldn't be any point in one code for the whole country, would there?

I too am mystified as to why suddenly this question is being asked over and over again. The only thing I can think of is that they want to access ITV player which requires you to submit a UK postcode even if you are using VPN..

There are hundreds of thousands for England.

Look up the website for The Royal Mail and use the postcode finder on the site, you will need the street name and the house number

Go to Royal Mail Postcode Finder, and put in the full address.

ALL UK ones available on POST OFFICE website...

There are hundreds of thousands you mong
