parking caravan on the streets for free?

I am planning a trip to Europe, I wondered whether it is possible to park your caravan on the streets or not?

What about small towns or villages?

Europe is made up of 50 odd countries and each one has different road and traffic laws. So you need to check each country's regulations. But in general, if you mean sleeping overnight in your caravan on a public road, this is illegal. You must park the van in a designated camping ground. No one wants complete strangers parked outside their homes overnight!

I know in Budapest you can only park for free on weekends otherwise you need a parking permit or have a parking sticker posted in your window.

Even so, there are some areas that are never free, major blvds. always need a parking ticket first.

In resort areas you will be given a ticket and a boot for parking in area's that are not part of camping. You have to pay almost everywhere to park. You can't just park in front of someones home either, people notice and will complain.

No. In most countries you will be TOLD to take your caravan to a caravan park. If you don't, it could be impounded.

Where in Europe? In most countries you can't just park anywhere, you must use a designated site.

some do accomodate
