We knew a Hungarian man who got arrested in the US, did 6 years in jail in Texas, they sent him there from Hawaii, then they took him straight to the airport and deported him back to HU.
If you think jail can be bad in the west you will be shocked to death if arrested in Russia.
Depends on what kind. I can buy antimicrobial antibiotics for UTIs for very cheap, compared to their prices in the USA! Like, let's take nitrofuratoin for example, against UTIs. In the USA,it's $20 without insurance. In Russia, it is $2, and you don't use any insurance or whatever, it's just $2. Bactrim (also against UTIs)-- USA: $20, Russia -- $1. So, medicines are cheaper in Russia, yes. You can get some antibiotics over the counter, like those for UTIs but not all. You probably can't get penicillin.
Easy?.. Relatively, yes. Cheap(er)? - I don't think so.

If your concern in going to Moscow is simply if you can find drugs instead of all other things it can offer, then my friend better stay at home. You will risk far less and you are always close home if something goes wrong.
Anyway, since you are determined to find out the usuall 'trial and error" routine can be applied but think what you may be risking.
Surely at some corner of the huge city you will find or you will be approached by a pusher trying to sell you drugs. How can you be certain that the transaction will be profitable for both??

You should try and buy some and find out. Russian jails are pretty fun from what I hear.
