There are very many people who are unemployed but there are some jobs not being taken. People can no longer assume that they will get a job to match their qualifications once they leave school, college or university or even after doing an apprenticeship.
Some will not take jobs which they feel are 'beneath' them whilst others (who would be low paid workers anyway) won't take low paid jobs because they can draw unemployment money (and other benefits if they have children and dependents) which might all amount to the more than the pay offered.
The Eastern Europeans moving here have a different work ethic from our indigenous species and will take work just to earn money and don't say "This is not worthy of someone with my qualifications" like many of our own would do and that is why many jobs are taken and our own are without jobs.
No. The problem is that unless you are well qualified or extremely lucky, the majority of jobs are appallingly paid
and many are not full time or the hours will vary from week to week. However if you are really eager to work, you will find a job almost anywhere in the U.K.
