what Is the fastest way to learn greek?

I am going to Greece for a whole summer with my best friend. I am 14 and want to learn greek to be able to talk to her family and friends is there anyway to be able to talk in greek In 6 months. any good ways to learn?

There are some lessons in basic Greek on You-Tube for free , so start there .

Be aware that native Greeks speak their language fast , do not always use textbook Grammar , nor standard pronounciation , and that dialects and accents can vary wildly depending on where you are in the country .

That might mean that YOU will be understood , but may not have a clue what is being said to you in reply .

Airpole's advice to get the Alphabet off by heart ( both the capital letters and the lower-case letters ) is good , so that ( with the aid of a dictionary ) you will be able to understand whether a sign by the road is saying " please do not dump rubbish here " or " We shoot foreigners here "

You'll learn it while you're there.

It's unrealistic to attempt to try and learn an entire language in 6 months, so my advice would be to learn some key phrases and start off with those.

Ask her to teach you basic Greek phrases and learn them by heart. It will be hard for you to learn more than that in such short time. Start with recognizing the alphabet so that you will be able to at least read what you see. Then if you are so set to learn attend classes.
