Most of Turkish people are Muslim but the laws in the country aren't related to the rules of any religion. It's a secular country with Muslim majority.
i live in istanbul so i tell you. we dont have offical religion. u can be muslim,atheist,christian,jew etc.etc. u can wear what you want or u can eat want you want. Turkey mostly muslim but they are not same with other muslim people. like mine best friend everyday 5 time pray to Allah but he is drink alchol with me weekend. only %20 percent people pray everyday %30 percent people a time in the weak (Friday) %50 people not pray anymore so Turkey is officially a secular country.
It is a Muslim country by history, traditions and culture, not by law.
99.8 % Muslim...
