Why not? The unknown is always beckons, but sould to learn that is it until step of moving way. At least because to come for 1-2 weeks for look and permanently living are different things. For example, i heard that western hospitals don't take on work with russian medical diploma, i don't sure, that russian hospitals will take you with your diploma. Even if you will studying in Russia (by your medical specialization) - i don't sure, that your diploma will help you start with 3rd year (immediately magistracy). Also, you should consider, that you at once do not get good jobs, but salary in public hospitals is low. Here is expensive housing as buying as rent, i don't sure that you will be able to buy house/flat even by credit first 5 years after finishing studying, at least 5 years. Thought, should calculate depend on choosen city, for example, at least now there is federal programm of supporting rural paramedics, if you do not mind living in the countryside...

And much more. But learn at first, calculate, compare.

I every year less and less heard of the desire to leave the country, i think, it's because people satisfied with life here. Today i talked with taxi driver, he said: "i work 2/2 (2 working days 2 days off) in Renault Logan (if you'll learn what is our cars, you understand that), i have 32-35 thousands salary, i have 3 credits and maintain a family with 3 children and i have enough money, why i need their abroads? I feel good here." Even it already means something.

Good like!

PS: We use metric system and i'm too lazy today that searching converters. And i have no idea, why you say that.

Did you say medical student? Are you in a lot of student debt? If you are, you won't be able to pay it off with Russian doctor salaries. HOWEVER, Russia is really amazing. If you want, you can transfer over to Russian medical school and they cost WAY less than any american medical school. Seriously. We're talking less than 10k a year. Some schools are for 2k a year, some students even go for free if they're really smart, however, that's for citizens, I don't know the price for foreigners, but really you need to check it out. Russia is the best place to live. If you are looking to have children in the future, they will be able to walk outside by themselves to school, dance lessons, music school, etc. You won't need to drive them anywhere because in Russia everything is within walking distance. You also don't really need a car in Russia, because public transportation is AMAZING. It can get you from point A to point B in the same time as a car would. Also, again, everything is within walking distance, like grocery stores, schools, clinics, even malls.

It's bad idea. Doctors get $500 per month.
