If you leave presents till the last minute you must expect things to go wrong.
Hi, I deliver catalogues too. I sort all of my catalogues first I basically stick everything into a thickish, biggish catalogue, I don't use rubber bands as then I can't carry as many as they get too bulky. Then I stick the bundles into green bags - like the supermarket ones. Then I drive around or get hubby to and drop off the bundles of the catalogues. So I just leave the green bags on the council strip. I was told not to use a trolley as it will slow me down, but I have taken DD with me before and used the pram with no dramas.
Sometimes if there are only a few catalogues I can carry most of it, but sometimes like around sale time I can only carry like 15 bundles!
The pay is based on the number and type of catalogue you deliver. For example a big glossy David Jone's catalogue will earn you more than a one page ad.
The money was better until a few months ago when the big companies started losing money so they cut the contractors earnings. I earn about 20-30 a week for 200 catalogues. But I am terrible at exercising so I do it so that I exercise and the money pays for DD's education fund, which will pay for her private school fees at high school and some of her first 3 yrs of uni or tafe or whatever she does. So I figure it is worth it!
It always comes down to 'compensation' in the last sentence :)
Honestly there are NO guarantees in life. The weather has been dreadful, people have had to leave their homes, trains are cancelled etc etc and you are fussing about something you ordered 'a few days ago' not arriving to the minute. You need to learn what is worth fussing over and what is not.
you cant have compensation for everything read the small print, they can change the delivery date if they want
i had a similar thing this time of year, of first class.
thats society.
i placed an order a few days ago for a christmas present from a catalogue. ii was promised my package would be delivered by a sertain date , and when i checked the items tracking, the date of delivery had been changed within the last hour ( on the promised delivery date stated ''latest delivery'' !) i found this personally to be shocking so phoned up my catalogue demanding an explanation, they just told me that it werent their fault. a woman had already called me a day ago and told me that it would be here by its delivery date too ! surely this cant be right ? has anybody had similar problems? what did you do ? surely they should compensate you for the inconvenience in some way?!
