Don't worry, almost all dorm rooms are equally crappy. Just consider yourself lucky that you have parents that might scratch up the money eventually.
There's probably a lot of other people in your same situation. Unless you're going to a school with really limited dorm housing then it will be alright. You'll likely get a room very similar (if not identical) to everyone else's in your dorm.
nah - there are plenty of parents who procrastinate on this until the last possible moment: you won't get the pick of the litter but you won't be getting assigned to the dank basement dungeon either.
No deposit - no room. Obviously those who have paid up in time will get the first choice.
They're all pretty crappy, just look forward to the lottery for sophomore year.
I haven't paid my housing deposit for my dorm room yet (blame the parents) and I really think I'm going to get the worst room. Move in day Aug 20th and I am pretty sure all the rooms are being taken up as I type this. Has anyone ever been in this situation? If so, what was your outcome?
