The broker is not required to release you from the agreement, which is a binding contract. You do not indicate why you want the agreement to end. However, it is typical to hold the contract until it expires, even though the real estate firm ceases to market the property. Why ? Because there are endless thousands who try to sell OUTSIDE the contract.
Take your issue to the broker showing good cause that the agent has failed to hold up their side of the contract. But realize those contracts aren't signed for giggles.
Realtor Agreement? Do you mean a sales contract agreement for a realtor to sell your house? If so, and you no longer want to sell the house or work with this broker and the broker will not let you out of your listing agreement. I would contact them via certified mail and request that they change the list price to $3 million dollars over what you have it currently listed at. At least that would make them look silly for having a listing at $3 million over the actual value. It would be a waste of time for them to keep the listing.
I need to be released from my realtor agreement and my realtor has accepted but he is saying the broker won't release me? Am I just out of luck and have to wait until the contract expires or do I have any alternatives? Should I contact the broker directly?
