Buying and selling a house at the same time?

You need a pre-approval letter from a mortgage company to make an offer. Most people wait till they have a contract to sell their home & make the offer contingent on the sale of their home closing prior to closing on the new one. You can price it however you want as long as you net enough to pay off the mortgage and pay the realtor.

You can offer on a house in the UK, but its a bit pointless as you cannot proceed with the sale until you have an offer on yours. The Agent will tell you what to put regarding the asking price.

It make sense to receive offers on your present house before putting offers on a newer house - in fact the sales staff on some new estates want to know if you have a firm offer on your existing house before they will even show you around a new estate to show you what they have on offer.

you better hope your house sells before or same day as closing on new house or Mtg might not be not be approved or you are stuck with two pmts until house sells

What is the usual process of selling your home and buying a home at the same time.

Do you usually wait until you have received an offer on your current house before putting in offers on other properties or can you put offers on houses you like before you've generated any interest on your current our?

Also if you're relocating to a different part of the country and know the area you want to move to and the average house prices can you list your property as "OIEO...the lowest you'd happily accept" in order to obtain a quick sale?

I guess renting in between selling and buying makes the whole process easier but sadly this isn't an option in this circumstance.

Any light shed on this would be very appreciated
