Can I afford an apartment alone?

You would need to have had a full time job for 2 years, good credit score, references and enough

income to pay the rent. You would need first month's rent plus security deposit. No one can tell you

the cost of utilities. Sometimes they are included. Do not apply for an apartment until you are 18.Even

then, it may be the age factor.

you will have to research and see if apts even exist in your area for that much and that will be a higher than ideal amt of rent for your income - you will have to pay your own car insurance which will be expensive if you have a car - utilities depend on type of heat and if heat is included in rent

You can afford about $500 a month max for rent on your pay.

It's close, I believe they want to see abn income 3X the rent, a good credit rating also helps you to be accepted.

Okay so here is the deal. I am 17 currently a senior in high school about to graduate in December. I turn 18 March 31. I plan on getting an apartment, atleast attempting to, in April. But to figure out if I can afford to do that or not I need some help. When I graduate I will have a Full Time Job making $10-$12 an hour. 40 Hour work weeks obviously. Take home $1400-$1600 a month. I plan on saving money from January until the time I move out. Hoping to have about $2500-$4000 by April. I would like to get an apartment anywhere from $550-$700 a month for rent ALONE. How much do you guys think utilities will cost me? Electric, water, etc? Please help me and let me know if I will be able to succeed or fail. Thank you for your time and help.
