Can I afford to rent this apartment?

Well over the recommended income ratio. I do not know if your income is net or gross. Also, what is the 90 day raise amount to? Another concern, how confident are you in your job? You will have to cut as many expenses as possible to make it. Really should be concerned about building an emergency fund 1st. These places will be there next year. Know sense in rushing into something when you are living month to month with no emergency fund.

Do "you" think that it is affordable. Living somewhat below your means will let you "set aside" moneys each month when you pay your rent. Very likely you will pay monthly rent or mortgage for most of your working life (30-40 yrs). Advise "not eat all your profits". Think very long term (retirement) so you will have a very prosperous living after your working days are over. Do the math!!! Also, every dime you spend on rent is goes to the owner,- not you,

It's pretty far over recommended ratios. At your present salary you should be looking around $925 for mortgage or rent expenses per month.

Before or after taxes? Look that is more than 1/2 your monthly income and would be stupid to peruse in my own opinion. you are getting way to hung up on things out of your price range for right now.

the apartments I am looking at are in a city and they are SO beautiful.. the apartments come with wifi, has a pool, fitness area, central air, and comes with furniture, as well as kitchen appliances. a 12 month lease is anywhere from $1,650 - $1,700. I just graduated college and have an awesome job! I make about $3,300 per month and will be receiving my 90 day raise soon. Do you think I can afford this apartment?
