No. Your lease doesn't guarantee you safety from the evils of the world. But renters insurance will cover the loss. All the landlord is required to provide is a lock on the door (dead bolt not required).
You may break your lease at any time if you are prepared to face the consequences. Burglary is not a valid reason.
No.....unless you can show negligence on your landlord's part. Such as not providing a dead-bolt on each exterior door. I my state any residential rental property is required to have a deadbolt on exterior doors.
