Having a baby is a huge financial responsibility. You say you have a good paying job, but what is going to happen after the baby is born? The doctors will probably want you to take at least 2-4 weeks off for maternity leave after giving birth. You need to sit down and plan a budget for that with your mom. There's a lot more expenses than just rent when living on your own with a young child. You won't be able to work as many hours, especially at first. Have you thought about who will watch the baby while you are at work? Childcare like daycare is expensive. How will you get to work? Since you won't be living at home, don't expect your mom to take you everyday. That's another expense for you. Who's going to pay utilities? Groceries? Medical expenses and baby checkups?
I'd suggest staying home. Put a crib in your room with you. If you have a double or queen bed, get a single/twin size one instead so there is more room for the crib and other baby things you will need. Raising a child on your own is hard and expensive, especially for young teen moms. I hope you have a lot of family support.
buffalo ny: be careful to learn about being emancipated as state laws vary on this. get a legal definition from your state website. hire an attorney for a consultation in your city. ask her should you phone family court and ask about any paperwork related to your age and state that may be helpful. regarding emancipation, read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emancipated... and for apartment renting read:
No you can't............you must be, at least, 18-years of age.
You don't buy an apartment. you rent one. You cannot rent anything at 16 years old.
not usually
Can I get an apartment? I'm emancipated, and I have a job that pays well.
My mom wants me out soon because I'm going to be a mother and she doesn't have enough room here. If can get an apartment, please tell me how to do it.
Thanks for your help.
