Can i get an apartment with no credit?

While some business-run apt complexes may have an issue w/ no credit, you shouldn't have a problem. Here's a list of tips:

- Budget! General rule of thumb is that ur monthly income should be 3x the amt you pay for rent. Start printing out and saving paystubs (u will need them). Look for places that have utilities included in rent.

- Look! Start looking before u apply. Get an idea of what you want. Check neighborhoods after its dark (look for criminal activity).

- Apply! Once you've found your new shag-pad, fill out the app. This is where u will need 2-4 recent paystubs (shows proof of income). There's usually an app fee (~$10-$50). ALWAYS write a check, NO CASH!

- Checklist! Before moving in, u fill out a checklist for landlord. Be tedious- not every chip in the paint, snag in the rug, etc- so aren't responsible.

- Move! Get a group of friends and fam, or hire movers. If your apt is 3rd floor or higher, I highly recommend hiring movers.

What State is this in, not all States the age of majority is 18, some states age is 19, some even 21. Doubt anyone will rent to you, no credit.

Mimi is correct but in addition you'll need the first & last months rent in addition to a security deposit. Plan on paying some, if not all utility bills, and what are your plans regarding furniture.

It appears you are not financially ready to move out.

Yes you can have a problem getting an apartment. Most landlords will not rent to young 1st time renters with no credit & no rental history. Any landlord that will take you will require a cosigner and or a larger deposit.

You'll be limted - most apt complexes won't rent to you.

Yes, it will be a problem. You'll not only need verifiable income - you'll likely need a guarantor (co-signer).

Hi, I'm 17 years old, and I'm turning 18 soon and moving out of my parents home. I'm not sure how all this works yet. I obviously don't have a credit history. So, would it be a problem getting an apartment? And what would be a good way to get my credit up? Any advice helps!
