Can my mother sign her council house to me ?

You MIGHT, if you have been living in that council house with mum. But if you have been living elsewhere and now decide you want a cheap house- then NO, you haven't a hope.

Its not your mum's house, so she can't decide who lives there next

No chance at all. If your Mum moves out she is giving up the tenancy, it cannot be passed on to you. As a single person you would not be eligible for a Council 'House' at any time.

No she does not own the council house unless she bought it from them then she owns it! council houses are made for people who need one not just to pass on to relatives

Of course not you act as if it belonged to her or something. Council houses belong to the government and they decide who gets to live there, not the person who borrows it!

Sorry but No. It goes to the next person on the waiting list.

Hi, My mum has been living with my grandparents for 2 months now as my grandmother was sick. Now that my grandmother has passed away my grandad wants my mum to move in for good. Is it possible that I could somehow stay in her council house ?
