It's possible! If your article about marketing is really instructive, deep, and predicative, then you may gain a large amount of potential traffic only through this article. Whether you can get huge traffic is due to the quality of your article.
Besides, your article should be spread and promoted all over the Internet. Submit your article to authoritative news websites, online journal, popular blog sites and social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. Sharing your article where people are crowded and active is always an effective way to get traffic.
It's unlikely if distributed through the conventional article directories, like ezineArticles, if you have written something exceptional and have developed a relationship with an authority site getting 1000s of visitors a day, having that article published there as a guest author can attract a good bump of traffic fr a short while. Appearing on a highly ranked site makes it more likely that article will be found by web searches in the future, unlike these buried on un-ranked pages of ezinearticles.
