Can you live on £18,000 a year?

I want to be a vet nurse but they earn around £18,00 a year, I want to move out once im qualified and have a job but will £18,000 be enough to live on even if I buy/rent a flat?

You need 3 to 4 times the rent of a dwelling to live - so if your rent is £400 per month you need around £1600 after tax - about £22k salary.

WE don't know, start checking to see what rent will cost in a bed-sit, how much utilities and other expenses are, go to the store and figure out what groceries will cost, you will need some insurance too. There must be some tables on line showing what % of income you need to live in Britain.

Where?

In London? No; you'll barely be able to afford a room in a shared house.

In Eastbourne? Sure. Because property is a lot cheaper there.

That would completely depend on how you would spend that money, you can even spend that money in just one minute or you can even manage to live an entire year and can even end up by saving some money out of that.

Depends on the location.

I live in the West Country on 13K

yes, thats quite a good amount to be living on a year, renting a flat can be quite expensive depending on location and size, but as long as you chose well it should be fine. :)

Depends where you live. You'd need at least £70,000 in London, if that helps...

Is that european
