Did my electricity company rip me off?

I don't think so…my monthly electric bill is usually around $200. $200 x 3 = $600. So…you're paying about what I am quarterly. You did mean quarterly, right? As in, a bill for three months of service? Because if you were billed $667 for one month, that's outrageous and you're definitely being ripped off. If you're definitely talking about a quarterly bill, though, $667 is perfectly reasonable.

Yes, definitely question this bill. It might include a deposit. But call and find out. A small apartment without heat or AC should be only $50-75 a month. Computer and TV dont use a lot of power. An electric range and refrigerator do.

Other answers were good. Possibly, it is a bill for the last tenant's usage. Or, it may be billing in advance for more than 1 month. Clarify it with the power company. A big utility company does not "rip off" people. Their rates are governed by the PUC. They make mistakes.

Also. Average household of 4 people who arnt electrocoty-usage cautious have bills $500 max quarterly

You should call or walk in and make sure it isn't from the last tenants. They don't typically go by names, more like address.

Our first quartly bill came to $667 which I believe is way too much for 2 people is a small apartment with basic appliances. No computer, tv on for 12 hours a week and no one home during the day with all lights and appliances off during the day except fridge. We are also electricity-usage cautious and turn main switches off and never leave unuses lights on.
