Personally, since the internet, no I don't look up anything in the Yellow pages, and I am over 60 yrs old; only those that are fearful of online use would tend to look in the Yellow pages for information.
The Yellow Pages sit on the floor near the phone as a backup for many people. They never use it. In most towns there are 2 yellow pages directories passed out. Visit a few people in your hometown and see which one they kept. You don't want to pay to be in the one that people threw away.
There's been a steady decrease in yellow page use, there may be a whole generation who have never used it, if you catered to seniors you might be OK, otherwise invest in more dynamic electronic advertising that doesn't require you to make a 1 year investment of sometimes thousands of dollars.
Some small services like carpet cleaners have reported good luck with a very small inexpensive yellow page ad saying to call out 24 hour a say information line, some use recorded pitches up to 15 minutes long, a dedicated message phone number or pretty cheap these days.
I do.... but I wouldn't if I had the internet at home.
I am considering advertising in the Yellow Pages and wondered if people still use them.
