Does this job seem legit?

Hi "Head",

You can always give it a go, but be extremely wary if they ask you for any money up front. Any legitimate company will never as you this, unless they are a network marketing organization.

That's not enough money to make a living where I am, but may be preferable work to being the lead guy who may have to pull some salesman BS with some of those cleaning companies where they commonly upsell from the advertised price, some even walk away if the customer insists on the advertised $19 service.

Do what you can to verify they are at least a real business, there should be a business name registered with the county that you may be able to research online to get the owners name and address.

If you are working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and there are 4 weeks in a month, that's only $5.21/hour. Or $1000/month is only $12,000/year

You'll make more money working at McDonalds

That's not much for a months work. Even if legit I'd walk away.

I've been looking on craigslist for jobs and I got called for an interview this morning about a job cleaning carpets and selling carpet cleaners. The interview went well and the lady interviewing explained to me that there is a monthly salary, and that we would not be paid based on commission. The went on to say that we would be travelling around with other employees demonstrating the carpet cleaners at different residences and that there would be 7-8 hours of work a day. I was surprised by the salary that she said I would make a month, it was around 1000 dollars a month. Needless to say I am a bit skeptical, she gave the company name and everything, do you think I should be concerned?
