If the terms of your lease means that it can end on a Sunday, then you can validly end it on that Sunday.
If the agent/landlord wants to carry out an inspection after this, then that it their problem. You certainly would not owe rent for the extra day, but it might be in your own best interest to turn up, purely so you can confirm they do the inspection properly.
Why should they give up their only day off. Do it on the Saturday.

Your lease must end on a working day for the agents who are handling it - that stands to reason.
It all depends on what your lease says. If your lease says that it ends on a certain date, then you can move out by that date and not owe extra rent, assuming you gave proper notice.
As far as an inspection goes, you need to work that out with the agency. If they don't work on Sundays, then you can't have it done on a Sunday. You should have it done the week prior to move out, and just be gone by Monday morning.
I often have tenants move out on the weekend. I won't take time off my weekend to deal with it. If they want an inspection, I will give it to them the week prior, and we arrange where to leave keys. I show up on Monday, and as long as they're gone, its all good.
Agencies do not work on sunday.
So why not end on the FRIDAY?
A shop and agency is not going to open just for you, so either end Friday or pay the extra day.
Hi All
I would like to end my tenancy agreement on a Sunday and therefore have the check out done on that day as well.
However the letting agent is asking me to have the check out done on Monday because they do not work on Sunday. Therefore I would owe one day extra rent to the landlord.
I live in London and one day is expensive! Beside I would have to take a day off from work to come on Monday. This sounds just like a waste of time and money for me as the flat will be emptied and cleaned on Saturday.
Is the letting agent allowed to ask to pay for an extra day to accomodate them for the check out?
Cheers
Jen
