Getting married looking for home that'll allow pitbulls?

This is why renters, ESPECIALLY military renters, shouldn't own dogs, ESPECIALLY not a pit bull breed. I have no idea what possessed you to run out to some puppy mill and buy a pit bull when they are banned on most military bases, banned in most rental housing, are banned in numerous cities in the US, and when you will be PCSing regularly. Do you feel like a grown up now?

Shelters around military bases are loaded with pets dumped by their owners when they PCS. It's an enormous problem.

You call the "breeder" you got this dog from and you bring it back. Don't ask for your money back as you won't get it from this type of breeder scum - it will be a costly lesson for you.

Pit bull friendly housing for military personnel is virtually nonexistent. This is why a *good* breeder won't sell to a renter or someone in the military.

You can contact pit bull rescue groups in your area to see if they know of any housing that is friendly towards you and your puppy. There are also websites out there that may help. However, this doesn't solve the long term problem of what happens to this dog while you are gone all day and when you PCS to a place that doesn't allow pits. She will end up another pit bull in a trash can after being killed at a shelter.

First of all this is not a for rent page. Not trying to be rude just hope you do not expect to find a rental this way.

Finding a place to rent with a pit is going to be very hard. This is not something you can run through a search engine either. Most rentals will advertize what dogs they will not take not ones they will. All you can do is keep calling places in your price range & location till you find one that will take him.

First of all, thank you for your service and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Unfortunately, you are going to have a hard time finding a LL who will allow your pittie. I am a fan of pitbulls, but I cannot permit my tenants to have one in my rental unit because of my insurance. My insurance carrier does not allow "dangerous breeds" and if a tenant has one, I will not be covered is the dog bites someone. You might find a LL who allow your pittie *IF* you buy a bond on the animal; not a rider on your renter's insurance, but rather an actual bond.

You may have to buy a place in order to have a pitbull, or not mention it and take your chances.

Thank you for your service as well. Insurance would be prohibitive for a LL who allowed the number one dog in vicious attacks (THAT IS a FACT not just something made up) to move in.

I know some of the sweetest pits on earth but alas I would not be allowed to rent to their owners.

Now you may be able to find an owner of one house they rent out to rent to you but I guarantee you there would be a hefty deposit. 5-20K

I am a landlord and my insurance company won't let my tenants have pit bulls.
