There is a government program called Section 8. Every county has a social service office. I would go there to see how to apply. If you are paying rent while living in a property that needs repairs, you can legally withhold rent from the landlord until repairs are made. The rental money must be put in an escrow account and the courts must get involved.

Animal control can take the animals from the home. That way you can spray and be rid of the fleas.

My advice would be to sell the house as is and either buy something cheap or rent.

If you're poor and have a home falling apart and it is riddled with fleas and is basically condemnable is there any programs you can seek help from to get a new home? This place...It really is bad and only a matter of time before the family is homeless due to the conditions.
