You might be able to get a studio in The Bronx or NJ for $1000.
You cant find anything for $1000 in Manhattan but you may find something in Brooklyn or the Bronx, or share a 1-bdrm in Manhattan. You can rent a room for that amount and you may find a sublet for a short time.
