How does additional income effect a housing voucher ?

If your income increase you pay a little more towards rent and get less assistance. But if you have housing voucher same rules apply u still pay 30% of your income towards rent. If you reside in home over the allowed voucher amount u can't pay more than 40% of your monthly income towards rent.

Not sure which home voucher u have! The Section 8 homes voucher private market or section 8 project home voucher. Just make sure you report everything so u want be charge with fraud and never able to receive assistance again. At the most your rent will go up $5 to $30 maybe, no biggie tho...

Go to your state department of community affairs website to view income limit for your family size.

You have to report the additional income because your rent is based on your monthly income. If this is a one time payment you have to tell Housing that.

If you make more money you get less of he governments money. If you now make too much to qualify then you lose the voucher completely.

Hopefully it lessens your need for the voucher and thus gives the taxpayers relief from having to care for you.
