Don't you want your bills to find you,
If the houses either side of you are numbered you have no chance and what happens if someone else already has that number, the idea of numbered houses is not just for the post but for the emergency services as well, if your road of houses was numbered out of sequence where would the ambulance know where your house was if the road was 10 miles long and the highest number was 7389 but wasn't the last house
I would either go to the Canadian Post Office or speak with someone at the city planning office to see what can be done to change your house number. Because of emergency services and the Post Office need to know these things there are steps that need to be followed.
You cannot change your house number. You might be able to request that someone else change it for you, under extremely limited circumstances, such as having made a mistake when the first one was issued to you. You address affects not only the mail and emergency services but also your property taxes and various administrative services determined by location (i.e. your driver's license, which school your children go to, where your deed is registered, etc.).
You can't. Numbers are allocated by the municipality.
It is vaguely possible that you could put up a case to be renumbered, e.g. if you are the only house in some sort of wilderness lane, but it is a long shot once a number has been allocated.
You can not do this, but you can put any old number you like on the front of your house. Just do not expect anyone to find you.
I am not sure where to apply for it. Can someone please tell me how to change my house number in Canada, specifically in Calgary if you can. Thank you in advance!
