How much money does a real estate agent make?

This is a difficult question to answer. The earning potential is unlimited.

There are some real estate agents that are happy with selling one or two houses per month and earn a sufficient amount to live day to day and a little left over.

In California[ if you sell 2 house per month, your commission would be in t he neighborhood or around $18,000,00 pre-tax. Of course you have many things you are able to right off, as well as the number of dependents you are able to claim.

Then you have your super heroes that earn in the millions. These are real estate agents, that is getting a commission of around 3% per house they sell or list.Normally these real estate agents have an excellent marketing plan that keep them with clients on a monthly basis.

Of course, when you earn at this level, you might have a staff that work directly for you ,so you would have to pay those that are on salary working for you.

Being a real estate broker, you would get approximately half of what each agent that work in your office.

The commissions are based on what you sell or your listing that sell. In California it would not be uncommon to earn a commission of $9000,00 for selling one house or having their listing sell,

Living in the south or mid west, your commission would be a lot less.So the local area would have a direct affect on your ability to earn.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

"FIGHT ON"

Real estate brokers make than agents. Remember that agents "eat what they kill" and nothing else. If there are 23 agents in the office selling, each individual agent only gets paid a commission―if they sell a $500,000 home and the commission "pot" was 5%, that's $25,000 to split.

They only make money when a house sells and then it depends if they were the listing agent or the selling agent or both. If the market is bad then they will not be selling houses and they will not make any money. If they can hang in there while the market is bad for a few years then maybe they can sell a number of houses and make more money.

How good is the real estate agent? The better they are and the more or higher priced properties they can sell, the more they can make. So the pay can be anywhere from your family starving and your home being foreclosed up to living in extreme luxury.

A lot less in Stockton than in Mayfair.

They are paid on commission so it depends on how many homes they sell.

Depends on the skills and the town they live in. I know realtors that make 20k and realtors that make 1 million.

Depends on how successful they are as a sales person.

Commission baby, can you sell?

As much as they want to earn.

If you have to ask, you're not ready to be one ... sounds like that's what you're wondering.
