Spend $30 to $50 a day for paid advertising, a few dollars a day for paid traffic which may be software robot or 3rd world people, or make the long term investment in SEO and a presence on multiple social web sites, it can typically take a blog style site several months to get to 3000 visitors a month. Some never manage to do it.
Write new original content a couple of times a week, some of it full length 500 word articles, get links fro other relevant sites.
Get the #1 position in Google for a keyword phrase that gets at least 300 searches per day.
Word of mouth is the best way. When people post your stuff on facebook it can get others to look at it. Paid advertisng is much less successful. You need quality material that people will REALLY like. If it is not exceptional, why should anyone care?
